WYSIWYG Explained

WYSIWYG stands for “What You See Is What You Get.”

When a coral is listed as WYSIWYG, it means the coral shown in the product photo is the exact coral you are purchasing, unless otherwise stated in the product description.

What WYSIWYG Means

A WYSIWYG coral listing means:

• The photo shows the actual coral for sale
• The coral is individually selected and listed
• Once purchased, that exact piece is reserved for the buyer
• WYSIWYG pieces may be limited or one-of-a-kind

This is common for collector corals, mushrooms, chalices, scolys, torches, hammers, and other pieces where color, size, shape, or pattern may vary from coral to coral.

Representative Frag Listings

Some products may use a representative photo instead of a WYSIWYG photo.

A representative frag means:

• The photo shows an example of the coral strain or colony
• The coral you receive will be similar, but not exactly identical
• Size, shape, color pattern, and number of heads/polyps may vary
• The product description should explain the expected frag size

Representative photos are commonly used for farm-grown frags that are cut from the same colony or grow-out system.

Photo & Lighting Note

Coral color can look different depending on:

• Blue reef lighting
• White lighting
• Camera settings
• Viewing angle
• Phone or computer screen settings
• Coral stress from shipping or acclimation

We do our best to show corals accurately, but colors may appear slightly different in person or under different aquarium lighting.

After Purchase

Once a WYSIWYG coral is purchased, it is reserved for that order.

If a WYSIWYG coral has already sold, it may not be available again in the exact same size, shape, or color pattern. However, similar pieces may become available later.

Requesting a Similar Coral

If a WYSIWYG coral you wanted is sold out, you can contact us and ask if we have a similar piece available.

Please include:

• Product name
• Screenshot or link to the sold coral
• Preferred size or color
• Whether you need shipping or local pickup

We may be able to recommend a similar coral from our farm systems.
